Connecting a Yamaha DJX

Hi Guys new to this thing, I got a yamaha Djx2 , I'm using a tascam Us428 as my controller and Cubasis Vst software on a Sony Vaio. What I want to know is if I have to plot like channels and stuff or is it like one thing to do and that's it so in other words ...Help!

HI i`m clubsweat i go to school online at berklee school of music for home studio music production for PC OR MAC i also have a yamaha djx i had no problems using it with REASON 4.0 N SONAR 8.5 .
