Cleaning up Live tracks.

I have learned a lot about production, but there seems to be that little something that keeps my tracks too noisy ie... fretnoise, feedback. back pickups on a gate that won't cover it....

I have heard there are some tools that I can use to try and limit that sound. I have heard that there is a specific kind of gate that I can use... I am not sure what it is, or what it is called, but it could really help me.

Also, I have an attenuator that allows me to use my amp head for my pre amp, but I still get that nasty broken up sound when I muffle on my lows (on the guitar with distortion), I am not really sure what that is all about.

Any help?

Here is a sample of what I mean:

I have to admit I'm not very much into metal and guitar recordings.

To my ears the guitar sounds fine. Not too dirty. But I like dirty, broken and unperfect sounds. So I might be the wrong person for your request.
