Any ideas why this would be happening? I played with the buffer size but it looks like my sound card might be ****. It's some stock VIA HD audio card, I can make beats on FL just fine with the Primary Sound Driver but I can't record within FL because I must set ASIO as the driver. I'm using the most recent drivers for ASIO and my soundcard, is anyone else experiencing a similar issue??

I use ASIO4ALL with that same on board soundcard with no problems but you need to understand that ASIO4ALL doesn't get along with every soundcard at every setting. Make sure the hardware buffer is turned off.

hardware buffer is unchecked. What settings are you running at? Perhaps if I use the same ones it will work better (buffer sizes etc)

Below is a picture showing that the VIA HD output is unavailable , I know asio doesnt like when youtube or other sound is being used, so the card is not in use by anything else, however I'm unsure how to disable Microsofts GS Wavetable synth.. Perhaps that'll solve my issue?

I realized I had outdated drivers, updating to the most recent ones fixed the issue. Now ASIO runs perfect! just putting that out there for anyone else who had similar problems with a VIA HD audio card!
