I remember I bought the Can't Sell Dope Forever CD by Dead Prez & the Outlawz back in college, & I pulled it back out yesterday
listening to that title track again man ... i'll be damned if it didn't make me think about hustling beats, "can't sell beats forever" ... get your money & flip that shit

& then the movie 30 Years to Life, is like an early mid-life crisis movie about people turning 30, and one of the main characters is Tracy Morgan, who plays an aspiring comedian ... I've seen that movie many times but watching it last week, watching him struggle w/ his agent bringing him BS projects, & signing his younger competition, ... hearing him talk about getting too old for that, having to hit the lotto to get enough money to be broke, sitting around w/ other old aspiring comedians talking about what the young folk are missing but envying their age, ... it just hit home, especially after all the threads lately

Yeah I understand where you're coming from but age is nothing but a #. However many use it as an excuse for a lack of drive or hustle. Money never jumps in any ones pockets & struggling through a career unfortunately is a part of many people's life. Some do what it takes to make it through the struggle, some get lucky, others simply fail. I think the problem is people want what they want, & they want it to happen their way. Most TALENTED producers, artist, entertainers I've known who struggle, really just never get out of their own way.

You have to do certain things & work at a certain level to make your dream happen. If you're not willing to do that, then be real w/ yourself & wake up from that dream.

well the age aspect is just about when you start having responsibilities, bills, kids, ... and you stop having available time & energy to chase it the way you end up having to chase it ... you stop having time to devote to things that aren't bringing in money, or enough money to fuel the rest of your life

and this is just referring to a comedian doing open mics, etc. trying to get to a bigger level, same w/ producers, ... you also have bigger guys who are in movies, have hosting gis, correspondent gigs, etc., and someting like this makes you look into those type of things earlier than you might when realizse you don't have as much time to "waste"
