I remember I bought the Can't Sell Dope Forever CD by Dead Prez & the Outlawz back in college, & I pulled it back out yesterday
listening to that title track again man ... i'll be damned if it didn't make me think about hustling beats, "can't sell beats forever" ... get your money & flip that shit
& then the movie 30 Years to Life, is like an early mid-life crisis movie about people turning 30, and one of the main characters is Tracy Morgan, who plays an aspiring comedian ... I've seen that movie many times but watching it last week, watching him struggle w/ his agent bringing him BS projects, & signing his younger competition, ... hearing him talk about getting too old for that, having to hit the lotto to get enough money to be broke, sitting around w/ other old aspiring comedians talking about what the young folk are missing but envying their age, ... it just hit home, especially after all the threads lately
