Not sure why I can't embed images in my posts. I've tried
and <img src=""> all of that. Is there another way of doing it? I've never had this problem on other boards. Any help is appreciated.

Let's try this now...

image.php

so you see it works when you press the advanced insert image, choose from url and untick the little box that says 'retrieve files locally'. Is that what yo are doing?

with [img][/img] tags you need to enter a fully qualified url between them i.e. http://your.domain.tld/filepath/imagename.type

Yeah, that's what I did but in the post it would just show up as the link/text, no image.

let me clarify that

Like Chater-La said, you also have to untick "retrieve files locally"

That is if you are using the embed image icon from the toolbar; if you type directly, you bypass the tag recasting that that tool imposes if you forget to untick the box.

In other words, context is everything. If you directly type your tags like me (I'm an old school html hacker, and so remembering tags isn't that hard), all you need to remember is to use a fully qualified URL/URI. I have found over the last two years of using vBulletin at various sites that it is sensitive to not being told what protocol to use in image/audio and file links (http/ftp/https/etc) - no protocol, no embedding. simple as that.
