"Canibus also told XXLMag.com during that interview he is working on a sequel to his 2003 album, Rip The Jacker. The album will be called Rip The Jacker II: Infinity, and will follow the formula of “Poet Laureate Infinity” for an entire album. “I got this record I’m working on called Rip The Jacker II: Infinity,” he said. “This record is going to mimic the same format, but it’s going to be for an album. So you are going to get an infinite album. And I don’t know if that’s ever been done, but I’m gonna do it.”
Now for the concept of Poet Laureate Infinity .....
1000 bars split up into 5 different tracks, in other words 5 200 bar accapella tracks. Each of these accapella tracks line up with eachother bar for bar and are placed in the mixer that way. What happens is you take a beat (they supplied one, but many have used there own for mixtapes up to this day) and use 1 of the 5 vocal tracks and start playing it.......Now the interesting part comes to play when you start switching each of the accapella's out for eachother...As when you switch from 1 accapella to the other, the ryhme continue's on seamlessly changing the outcome of whatever line you switched up (there's many dope mixes that are still coming out fresh to this day). This give's you a possibility of an Infinite ryhme all on the mixing board!
Now.....Rip the Jacker 2 Infinity is a full album based on this very formula. In this case it's a 10000 bars split among different songs..
10000 bars = 550 mins, so that works out to about 9 hours of ryhming!
pretty sweet huh?
here's layer 1 of one of the tracks
