Can i hook my MPK up to the M-audio fast track?

Hey folks.

Ive got a AKAI MPK61, and i need a audio interface now for recording guitar - but i want one where i can also hook my AKAI up to - can i do this with the M-Audio fast track ? Its a mic input but is there like an adaptor or something, or do i have to get the Fast track pro ?

You can hook up your MPK directly to your computer via USB.

If for whatever reason you need to connect it directly to your interface you connect it via Midi.

But wouldnt i get lower latency/better sound quality and response if i linked it through a audio interface?

No. That's something else all together. Your latency is dictated by your buffer size (which is set within most interface's control panel). Without getting too wordy, going with an interface can improve latency simply due to the use of Asio drivers. But having the MPK connected to your interface will not give you any added benefit other than freeing up a usb port.
