Can anyone tell me about a Numark CDN-34

I have question for anyone willing to answer:

I was giving a Numark CDN 34S by a friend of mine. She told me I was free to do whatever I wanted to do with it, but seeing that I'm not a DJ, I really have no use for this item. I was thinking about putting it up on ebay however, I don't know much about it nor do I know what these units are worth. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me a little bit about this unit.

For your info, I did try using the search function to research it on this forum as well as Google, but unfortunately, not much info really turns up. I was able to find that they apparently go for approx $549 brand new. Can anyone else share some information about the CDN 34S.

They are a dual deck CD player, discontinued ages ago. Numark made loads of these with different features. The CDN 34 was the intermediate level player of the lot, and actually has quite a few features like "Program Play", Anti shock and I think Hot Starts (dont quote me). At the time Numark were the only ones making these kind of CD players and can actually take some abuse, despite the reliability issues Numark are well known for.

These kind of CD players were never built towards professional Dj's, but more mobile Dj's. I'll be surprised if you get much for them, in the UK you can probably expect to pay about £50-£65 ($100-$120) for a good condition CDN 34.

If you have a slight interest in Djing I would suggest you keep them and learn the basics on them. If not, get rid, but dont expect much, theres a lot of competion in the CD player market, and even the entry level ones match these for features now.
