Is this possible? If so, how?

When ever I find a melody I like, I chop it is Soundforge. I then pull it into the sequencer of FL Studio. At that point I try to change the tempo. However, the tempo of the sample doesn't change and my percussion is either way slower or way faster than the sample. So I figured I need to change the tempo of the sample in Soundforge before I put it into the step sequencer of FL Studio. Is this correct?

yes this is correct..

if you load up audio-samples within FL studio, and change the tempo they won't change with the tempo..
i don't know about the capabilities within FL Studio 5, since that version already allows you to edit audio (i don't know about a time-streching feature, i haven't had the chance to check it out so far)

regarding the calculation of bpm's: i've once posted a rule on how to calculate the percentage between different bmp so people can easily calculate the proper percentage for audio-editors that let you change the tempo via percent only, but that was quite a few months ago, and due to some db-problems (the search function won't find threads of that time) i can't find it anymore.
honestly i don't know this rule by heart anymore, and it'd be a little too time-consuming for me to search through all my 1500 posings ;)

maybe i can find it somewhere else, but i'd have to look for it first..
