Hi, I wrote a song to a beat I found on YouTube and the producer wants $700 for the exclusive. I would normally always buy the exclusive but it is too expensive. I am thinking about buying the unlimited lease for $200 instead. It appears from the terms that you get all the benefits of the exclusive except that other people can use the beat. Am I right or is there something I’m missing when buying an unlimited lease?
I read some stuff about YouTube content ID becoming a problem when you don’t own the exclusive. From what I understand content ID is basically when more than one YouTuber posts the same beat, computer generated algorithms recognize that and will flag or take down one of them. So I am worried about that and would appreciate any input anyone has on this. Thanks!
