Butter Rug Question..

Yeah, uh, this is kind of embarassing so I'll just come right out and say it :)

Which side of the butter rug goes down? The slick side or the felty side? I'd still appreciate the answer to this, even after asking my next question...:

I need to use a normal slipmat in conjunction with the butter rug to get the height I need. I know it's kind of a 'try it and find out what works best' kinda thing... But I find that if the butter rug is placed on top of the normal slipmat, it tends to get picked up with the record when you're switching vinyl... Anything else I should take into consideration? How do you guys have it set up?

Right now I have, in order from top to bottom:

Record
Slipmat
Butter Rug (slick side down)
Platter

slick side down. and if you do want to use it with another slipmat, use it how you are now
 
I use my buttaz slick side up with a piece of plastic on the platter.

Super slick but you need to have good hand controll .I guees its just a preference thing.
