built in samples on a keyboard in fl studio? need help

Hey,

I would like to connect my midi keyboard to my pc, yamaha psr-290, I know how it's done but I only need a midi to usb cable still. There is only one thing I'd like to know before going of to buy a midi to usb cable and that is if I can use the samples in my keyboard in fl studio and in which way. Can I use them in piano roll and if so, how? Or will I only be able to use them like I can record my guitar with edison, where I the blue line in in the back of my computer?

to use the samples that are found in your keyboard within a production you will need to use an audio interface to record them into fl - there is no other way

the MIDI to usb cable will only carry the control data not the sample sounds (MIDI is incapable of transmitting the kind of data that you would need for that)
