Slow Down was sampled from the last song on The Last Samurai Soundtrack "A Small Measure of Peace". I dont know for sure what kind of instrument it is but im thinking a symphony, maybe a violin. Download the song, the sample it comes in at about 6:40, and maybe you can get a better view of the instrument. As for the drums on Tell Me Im not sure but I have a similar sounding drum in this ethnic drum kit have.

that's hilarious that they sampled The Last Samurai, I was thinking of some Samurai stuff when I listened to the bridge, there gay as hell for sampling a bridge, you call yourself R&B lol, Timbo can sample Bjork for a beat switch, but not Tim and Bob, they are turning into some lazy dudes, sample CD breakbeats and sampled bridges? R&B is supposed to be a more musical genre then that, I don't got a problem with sampling, but damn yo, where's the musicianship?

They knew that they could get by with that and that no one would really even pay attention accept for kats like us.

What's the name of that ethnic drum kit...?

Stefano Dimera dont hate. I like the way Tim and Bob chopped that $hit. If you got that sample you would not know what to do with it. They did "there thing". Thats a nice sampling job because I did not know that slow down was sampled. Who Produced Ludas Pimpin all over the world thats a hot beat rigth there!

Modern Beats Ethnic Instruments. By the way Tell Me is a sample from Jet Li's The One soundtrack "For the World". The funny thing about these two samples are they are not credited in the booklet. Wonder how they got away with this?

Yes, but also Tim donates his drum soundz to modernbeats. I got them.

I would love to hear a remake of "Let me Love You"

I don't think the song contains a sample though...

i got em too. did u use em and how much Eqing did u have to do ?

lmao @ Timbo DONATING his drums
you know Modern Beats chops drums out of songs right? why would Timbaland make his beat during the commercial on 106 & Park, rarely divulge his secrets, and all this if he would just give his drums away? really man, although he did say "you could sample my drum kicks and my snares, take yo beat and then compare (nigga that **** ain't gon work)" but why would he do anything to encourage "Beat Biters"?

and he might use Modern Beats but he didn't use a 'kit' for those drums La, he looped a drums from a sample CD, I don't think it was Modern Beats but I'm not sure, someone said that Total had a song with a whole loop from Black Butta
whoever made that Modern Beats kit probably chopped it out of that loop or something else

and to the dude that said "Stefano Dimera don't hate" that song is so wack to me in the laziest way, the songwriting is retarded and its that kind of mess that's bring down the genre, the artist is a flaming homosexual, the way he's singing is alright but the beat is mad lazy, if Timbaland hadn't already used that drum loop ON A SINGLE at that, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but those drums don't even go with the track, how you gonna have some baby-butt soft strings, some Samurai theme music, and some African (or whatever kind that is) drums?

and with those kits, its not even so much about your tweaks to them, you gotta know that those were cut out of songs, and even if you had the actual drum sample from Timbaland's MP, what you heard when you listened to the song is a combination of that bass drum, the bass note over top of it, whatever synth, ... that's why they are instant 'heatmakers'

THanks for clearing that up man. But those dudes don't care man. They can tweak it to something better else that's hot. Dr. Dre said he doesn't care as long as the music is getting played because he can come at any with diffrent sounds.

Timbaland??? He has nothing to do with this thread.

Tim & Bob produced this.

Can someone plz post up that kick drum they were talking about.
