Big Poppa Lead!!! Fast Help Please! Urgent!

Hey, does anybody know what synth lead they use on Big Poppa by Notorious B.I.G., or I Miss You by Aaliyah? It's a real popular R&B synth, you hear it on almost every slow r&b song. Please tell me the VSTi I would need to get this sound, and the name of it. Thank you very much.

its a basic square wave you could do it with a sine wave too. just turn up the attack and play at the right octave. high pass filtering couldnt hurt either.

no i dont. im a programmer more so than a preset dude. i program my own synth sounds.

u could come close just picking a bright lead with alot of high frequency and roll off highs with the cutoff knob

just a lead... but the sound they used i believe was a sample... not sure on this one...
