I really need to expand my synth sounds in reason, but all the synth refill have been lacking IMO. Ive tried the sonic synth refills, but only had a couple (4 or 5) synth sounds that I liked. Either recommend me some refills, or we can trade synth sounds we have made.

thanks.

yo ,do what i do ,program them on your own ,i used to think reason was lacking in synths ,then i started hearing patches done by regular people and them joints was crazy ,all i did was learn the synths and just started programming i know it sounds like work but once its down pat you'll program fast.

Yeah, the advantage with Reason I would say is the ability to create your own amazing sounds with the combinator, subtractor, and the malstrom is good too. It takes a lil' learning but it will be well worth it, just dive into the manual and it'll give you alotta info on working with them to create sounds.

As for some refills that have good synth sounds (in my opinion), I'd have to post that later when I'm home.

There's a refill called XSynth, don't know how good it is for hiphop though.

****a synth preset make your own most synth presets suck

You need hot synths get a good VST pluggin.

For Synths i use Hypersonic 2.

Yo my fellow producer you need start using soundfonts I recommend them because they actually sound alot fuller than the reason sounds. .sf2 google it download a few then try them tell me what you think.

I think I've slept on soundfonts. Are they any good actually ? could I build up a full rompler library (QUALITY) with soundfonts ? Or are they mostly amateurly done ?

Man you're an idiot, this thread was about recommendations of best synth refill's for reason. Why do cornballs like you come in and ruin threads with nothing to add?

Like I stated to the starter check out reasonbanks.com they have some really good mutisampled refills and combi patches.

oh yeah there is a good free synth refill out its on http://www.audio-infos.com/ its called yamaha cs6x its completely sampled from the yamaha cs6x synthesizer and its like 1.3gigs of multisampled sounds and it sounds better than alot of stuff that you have to pay for.

i didnt ruin anything I simply told the truth most synth presets do suck. the best thing u can do is learn to program them yourself. Ive been through reason banks and those synths suck too. The fact that he went out and got one of the most commonly recommended refill packs out there (actually one of the better ones) and couldnt find anything worth while really proves my point. The best way to get the most out of a synth is to learn how to program it. Just because cats like u refuse to figure that out or better yet trade patches (which he also asked about and makes the most sense to do) doesnt make me an idiot it makes u lazy.

Once again you come off sounding like a pompous moron and judging by your music and losses on rocbattles you need a couple of refills in your arsenal. And I doubt you've been through (more like bootlegged) reason banks and say they suck, as they are all muti-sampled, perfectly looped multi-velocity samples along with combi patches that are just more than a reverb and a delay of vintage and not so vintage keyboards and synths. Everyone knows the Sonic Reality Synth 1-2 refills suck, however the Voices refill is top notch as well as the miroslav gold refills.

esoundz.com

Maybe he doesn't really like the sound of malstrom or subtractor and is looking for a different sound than what is offered on those.

Again he was asking for recommendations for refills, if you have any post em if you don't K.I.M.

Im a moron yet your talking sample based patches and not synths ok. Im not pompus at all Im simply stating my opinions I didnt ask for your approval. Furthermore I don't see what Rocbattle has anything to do with the fact that most of these synth banks aren't good. Sample based instruments and refills are different but hes asking for synths. THe only synths in Reason are the Malstroom and the Subtractor. Your talking multisamples and synths as if they are the same thing. Think what u want Im not going to argue with someone who clearly doesn't know the difference between a synth and a sample

Well genius he stated in his first reply that he had the SR Synths which are sample based of original hardware synths. For arguements sake since he stated he had the SR Synth 1 or 2 or both and didn't really like the sound give or take 4 or 5 sounds (which I agree) he asked for alternatives (sample based copies of original), which others in this thread including myself have given him, but you have yet to.

And anyone whom actually purchased a copy of analogue monsters or quadrasynth story would know damn well that those don't suck.

Softsynths on the other hand are different than an "analog or digital synth" being that they don't use circutry or DSP to produce sound, oh wait what about wavetable sythesis using real samples as its oscilators are those "synths" too?

And I brought up your roc battle because nothing of your music in your homemade "synth presets" sound any better or different than presets in Reason, matter of fact nothing sounds original in your "synth presets" which leads me to believe you are full of shit.

I checked out homeboys soundclick page and his music is way hotter than yours

http://www.reasonbanks.com/ has some of the best synth refills for reason. I cosign all of them. You can download demo refills.
Why would anybody take the co-sign of someone with 16 posts here? I'm not knocking you but my rule of thumb is you don't co-sign anybody or anything because people will hold you responsible for anything that goes wrong :)

Well I have been here since 2005 however, he can always download the free demos of the refills on the site and make a judgement for himself.

Does anybody know of any good moog(ish) patches for Reason ? i'm looking for a similar sound as the lead synth in T.I. - What You Know. The subtractor patches in the Reason stock factory sound bank wasn't too good, IMO.

1 i have all of the sonic reality synths and quite a few of them are based on the malstrom and the subtractor. if i remember right i dont have them on me synths 2 and 3 are all based off the malstrom and subtractor. 2nd a true synth digital or analog is still based off of the 4 basic wave forms which is what i am saying. if he is asking for a true synth tone which is more flexible than a sample then most of the ones for reason do suck. im not arguing that the sample based ones suck i never said they do i said the synths suck because they do. also saying something sucks is a matter of opinion just like u think my music sucks which to me is irrelevant. im 50% at rocbattle whats that 2 and 2 i havent battled anything in like a year all these losses are still equal to all of my wins lol. Your arguements are stupid and since when was this a competetion u are basing my whole production on 4 beats that are over a year old u have no idea what i do now. the fact that I mostly sample and sell tracks locally also shows me more so that u have no idea as to what ur talking about. also i have analog monsters as a matter of fact i have about 30 gigs worth of refills. i know exactly what im talking about so when i say something sucks thats because in my opinion is does suck. but since we are talking about whos beats are hot where are yours your all over homies nuts and lookin up my ish but have ur beats hidden. I take it your not confident with your music. I am very confident with mine and make money from mine :D
