I Have A Baby Bottle Mic And I Was Wonderin What Would Be The Best Pre Amp For Me To Get For Vocals If Any One Could Help Me Out N Prices Would Be Nice To
Thanks
well thats a class-a mic so i would suggest nothing less than a class A preamp. anything less will bring down the quality of the mic which would make it pointless.
I personally like the sound of avalon preamps, however they are a bit pricey. Why not the Blue Robbie? (its made by blue also and is single channel which is all you need for one mic.) I also have used some of the higher end focusrite preamps in school and like the sound of them
Maybe someone that's used this mic with different pre's should say something instead of people guessing.
I have. I used it with the Presonus Eureka and it sounded decent. I've also used the Apogee mini-me pre's and it's really clean that way. It sounds good through my Neve clone mic pre. Also, a big surprise, the presonus tube pre. I know that this is a crappy, cheap pre but it sounds good with the Baby bottle and the Bluebird. It would sound good with a Summit Audio pre also. And I've used it with a LA-610, and it was good. I don't know what the perfect match would be. Probably a Pacifica or something.
Avalon mic pre's are overrated. I've used them many times. They sound nice but I like more flavor. Just because they are expensive doesn't mean that they are the best. They are very good and clean sounding but I rather have a Trident S20 with a API eq, and Distressor or LA-2A compressor.
