Stillwell Audio Major Tom and Kjearhus Classic Compressor are king on vocals. Other than that check out Buzzroom Free and de la mancha D2 for a hard compressor.

CQ1 is... awesome for this.
it is maybe not as generally useful as DQ1, but its amazing at what it can do.

yeah... i used the absolute piss out of v.1 of his plug...
i just realized there was a v.2 with my mega-bump above.

moses has been onsite since my post, and it appears the links to the plug have been stripped out of all these posts... so im guessing maybe FP pissed him right off at some point and the plug is no longer for us. too bad. i havent found it digging around the web either...
