does anyone know hot to find out what all the nobs and encoders do?

it depends on what program ur using...i have the bcf2000 too...in protools le the rotary knobs are for panning and when you actuaally press down on one of the knobs...ur arming the trax for recording...the encoders are mute and solo..the bottom four buttons [(closet to the bottom of the board to the right)] are the transport....top left button is rewind the top right is fast forward (scrubbing) and the bottom left is stop and the bottom right is play.....after arming the trax...the "edit" button is the equivilant to pressing the record botton on the transport in protools....so the order goes...

1.arm trax(press rotary knob accordingly)

2.if u have an mbox set the input and playback knob in the middle and press the bottom encoder button on the trax that u armed to mute the trax (i believe its the bottom encoder button, but you'll find out with trial and error..and you wanna mute the trax your gonna record to reduce echo when recording)

3.press the "EDIT" button on the behringer(like pressing record on the transport in protools)

4.then press the bottom right buttton (in the group closes to the bottom of the surface--equal to the "PLAY" button on the protools transport)

then ur in bizness

i almost forgot.......let say that ur gonna record.....u import the audio....that will become the first trax or fader....the first fader on the behriger should rise if its configured properly.....and lets say that you need to make 10 other trax.....problem.....there is only 8 faders.....actually no problem...press the "PRESET" button to the left and you'll be in control of any other trax that are outta ur 8 fader limit....then if u wanna control ur first 8 trax...press the "PRESET" button to the left and ur in control of the first 8 faders or trax...think of the preset button as a button that when pressed...8 more faders appear from no where...lol

Good lookin, So I have another question. So I downloaded the Baby HUI manual and I can see all the buttons and parameters. However the Bcf has added buttons like "Paste, Delete, Copy and Cut." Also there are two others "ALT V and PERF" I figured out that the PERF button is like Prefrences but I'm not sure exactly what the ALT V is doing. I called Behringer and They didnt know what it did either.

And when I record in protools I use the "Low Latency Monitoring" option. If you use this you will have no echo problems.

well...if u stick with the basic control i said you shouldnt run into any problems...i leave em just as they are...i wish i could help you on that and what type of interface do you have...mbox or digi series

Hi there, I'm trying out the new Pro Tools M-Powered demo. I'm trying to get met BCF2000 working but I keep getting Pro Tools error: can not communicate with HUI. My BCF is in Baby HUI mode and is connected with USB MIDI port. In Pro Tools I selected HUI controller. I can use my Faders etc. except my BCF2000 won't receive fader positions etc. from ProTools (and there's this error message)

Anyone got the full version yet? now a solution?

P.S. Behringer is pointing to Digidesign and Digidesign to Behringer...

I am using FL studio 5.0.
I read the BCF&BCR manual and they said they can both be used at the same time to control seperate aspects of your software. I wanted to use one (The rotary for my synths) and the other (the Fader) for my mixer. I assigned the BCF to U-4 and the BCR to S-3 and they both seem to control each other. when I turn the resonance on my synth it also turns up track one on my mixer!. This is not what I was going for~ Does anybody have any solutions for this problem?

im not sure but i think it has some thing to do with the ID numbers of the surfaces

Can you use two BCF2000 B-Control Fader modules? Please say yes. Because at first I was about to buy the Behringer DDX3216 but was told I couldn't use it to control Pro Tools so that really hurt my feelings though if someone got it to work I would really appreciate any helpful. I really would like to buy this instead of the BCF but If I can't use it to my needs I'll just stick to the BCF but I need a answer quick due to me buying it tomorrow.

maybe you have matching midi channels and CC's on both controllers.
if you're intersted i've programmed presets for the bcf which go from midi-channel 1 - 16 with all fader/encodergroups/buttons assigned. (what a tedious task that was!)

Hi people, I'm new here in the forum and need the help of some of you more knowagable guys. ...does ANYONE have the exact procedure to get the BehringerBCF2000 configured to work with ProTools 6.9 in Hui mode. I just put my system together along with Reason and am not sure where I should use the BCF to get the most out of it. with Reason or ProTools or can I configure it to control a little of both?? I'd greatly appreciate any help to get me going. I have all of the drivers ready to load but am unsure of the sequence of loading them with the updates and such. thanks much!!!

In theory : yes
practice: nope.

What's the problem after setting the BCF into the Hui emulation mode?

I don't think anybody's mentioned that it doesn't have touch sensitive faders. It can't write automation while it's reading automation. If you are automating the volume in your mix and you mess up, you will either have to edit the automation curves with your mouse or delete the automation and start over. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

BCF2000 Owners!

When you move the faders on the bcf, does the fader of my track, say in Cubase, respond. Or do I have to use automation? I ask b.c previous poster said faders are not touch sensitive...A bit confused on what is meant by this...

no, they won't from the get-go. A read of this thread from post 1 might help

As long as the faders have been assigned then yes the faders on the bcf will move the fader of your track when you're not writing automation. You can also record your fader movements if you choose, <--this is what automation is.
