flonominal was used in a couple of episodes of the boondocks tv show, it was used as a joke, being the name of a stereotypical overplayed rapper. Thugnicficent, along with label mates flonominal and macktastic, formed the lethal interjection crew.

u know fyi,

That's where I got it from, was Flonominal was the one that Busta voiced (I think). btw

Yeah i have been on the scene since '06, but only started doing videos recently. Click on my signature to checkout my new youtube vid of me making a beat. Mysto and Pizz have been doing it for YEARS. I got into it through my good friend Garbz who is doing pretty well for himself now.

just found this thread, seems most of the question has been answered more or less. We did get on the beatmaking-video blogging thing early before anyone was really doing it so that def helped alot but its still very possible to get noticed now. For example our boy Ryan Tedder. He started about a year or so ago, maybe a little more. I remember watching one of his first videos and just vibing off his energy. We then met with him and he was asking us the same questions u know, how do u get big on youtube. And we just told him that the most important thing, is to be consistent, keep bringing the videos and it will climb, and of course bring heat. So he just kept doing it and now he's getting a pretty decent amount of hits and subscribers are climbing: https://www.youtube.com/user/RyanTedder412

Also a thing to keep in mind, peoples attention spam on youtube is extremely short. so make sure your videos are action packed and heavily edited. Limit the talking unless your saying important things, go straight into the track, and edit out whatever is not that interesting. Meaning sometimes its enteraining to see someone actually find a melody but most of the time its a boring process so just give them the final product. Keep your videos to like 3 minutes long and you should be good.

We're about to change the way we blog too, got a whole new movement we about to do. We're still gonna keep doing the beat-videos and skits we're known for but those take alot of time and energy (we shoot alot and go hard on editing) hence why we dont update as much with those. So to combat that we're about to start doing more frequent raw footage almost daily updates of just whatever is going on or whatever we're upto - music related and more personal. Hopefully this will hold down the fans until the next featured beatvideo is put up. But all of this goes back to that idea of consistency and entertainment. Me and Pizzi dont look at ourselves as producers anymore but as entertainers. Especially since we got a reality show in the works, bout to start our DJ tours, tryna get a artist deal etc. Gotta do it all :) hopefully some of that helps, take care

yeah i was always thinking about doing the youtube thing. i think its time..

Some great input has been provided thus far. I just wanted to add a little bit for whatever it's worth.

I would suggest doing videos that are not JUST about music production, but that are still relevant for those who are interested in music production.

Do a video about how your music production impact family time (or how your work schedule impact production time)?, and how you combat that? Do a video about how you interview artist when they come looking for tracks. Do a video about how you go about promoting yourself after the heat has been made. Just do things that the other producers who are making videos aren't doing, but try to keep it personal and informative.

Your fans that you currently have may appreciate seeing what you eat for breakfast? Or how you get a creative idea from a childrens cartoon or whatever you get isnpired by.

Just some thoughts.

I'm working on both a tutorial channel and then a vlog channel. Imagin PhillyD meets boon doc. Should be fun when I'm done!
