oil and water...the two don't mix...

mutually exclusive.

usb mics are for newbz & podcasters.

USB mic basically have an audio interface built in. Problem is, you can't upgrade it, replace it or use it with anything else. Same thing with the mic pre.

...which is why my thoughts on the subject are largely the same as above. The mics themselves aren't probably much worse than other cheap condensers, but everything else is.

lol if you have a audio interface why would you buy a usb mic? the point of a usb mic is so you don't need an audio interface

i feel so so so so much sympathy for you & the confusion youre going through because man i thought exactly the same way you did and went crazy trying to find an audio interface for a usb mic, i even posted about a million questions on FP just to find answers.
Basically, a usb mic and an audio interface do not work together.
what really really helped me was reading stuff at http://www.tweakheadz.com They have polls on which are the best condenser or dynamic mic is the best bang for your buck, and they even have a chart detailing specs of interfaces and their costs. It's definatley worth checking out.

usb mic's are cool if you're on a budget, but don't expect anything of quality to come from them.

I use a Samson C01u mic right now that I picked up off an FP'er for 20 bucks haha. It gets the job done, but vocals are often muddy, and feel like they're filtered compared to the rest of my tracks.

Also, a downside of USB mics... Since they are an audio interface, sometimes they don't play the nicest with other audio interfaces (main sound card) ... i've had issues with ASIO and my USB mic before.. usually can find a work around though

I have used the same exact mic with FL Studio and the quality is the farthest thing from professional! There's always static, and clips during recording, and the specs of the mic itself is pretty dayum bad. How could you have possibly gotten a decent sound out of it? What program are you using?

I'm savin' up for a Studio Projects B1 and a Firewire interface, nobody should have to settle for anything less then GOOD QUALITY. money is always a tight issue so i regret not just saving up instead of going out and getting a USB mic. I think for your reputation you should go for quality recordings or no recordings at all.
