I am looking for a cheap interface to record live performances out of a mixer into an iPad running Auria. I tired a special cable that was supposed to allow this but it is not reliable. From what I see it looks like I will need an audio interface that goes through the fire cable port. Is that what I need and will this work with multiple audio devices into multy track in a DAW like Auria?

You need the 'Lightning Camera Adapter', a powered USB hub and an audio interface that supports Apple's 'CORE' audio...
All the Focusrite Scarlett interfaces work... I just hooked up my 2i2 and recorded video, taking the audio from my laptops headphone jack, into the 2i2's preamps direct to the ipad.
