Audio interface for around $500?

What Audio interface do u recommend Audio interface for around $500? or from $500-1000.
I have Pro tools 10, Logic pro, Fruity Loops.
I also have Digidesign 003 rack. need another one for my friend. looking for the same or better quality than 003

Great question. I use balance that was $500 when I got it but if you are not a Reason user I wouldn't tell you to buy it. Its a great audio interface that works well with other DAWs but the extras it comes with only really benefit Reason owners unless you want Reason Essentials which is a solid slimmed down version of Reason that works with the new rack extensions.
 
I currently use NI's Komplete Audio 6 Interface, which well under 300 bucks. Its really worked nicely for my setup. I'm running KRK VXT 8's, Audeze LCD 3 headphones, 2 midi's (Axiom 49 and Ultranova Novation), and Maschine through FL Studio 10.
