I'm lookin for a VST with asian strings like the ones in this song. Good looks ahead of time. Also, if that specific instrument has a unique name (don't say violin/cello), mention it too, I'm ignorant on the subject.

Its a ehru(chinese violin)love them joints.lol man get them free vsts from kong audio they have a good version.

that was really fast, props. for some extra credit, you know any VSTs that produce that nice brooding string sound that comes in near the end???

Check out the free DSK Asian Dreams, you might like it, but i don't think it's asian strings, but it has asian instruments and percussion.

the world music jampack for garageband and logic has it

This is what your looking for http://www.chineekong.com/chineeerhu.htm

Yeah its an erhu like dabeatdoctor said. They have a free version of the erhu plugin you can download if you don't wana get the full version. Your gonna have to layer and put sum effects to get it to sound like the ones from Bobby V Slow Down tho cause by themselves they sound like the ones from from Tell Me.......

Click on video to listen to the song cause the embeding is disabled

The strings in that Bobby Valintino song just like ordinary strings to me, or possibly synth strings to make them sound soft like that. But the best virtual erhu I've heard comes with the Apple Loops World Music collection. It's very detailed with controls for back and forth motion of the bow, but if you're on a PC, you need something that can play exs, or you need to convert it to something else. Kontakt can play it though.

The song featuring Lil Wayne does sound like an erhu though.

OH hmmm Asian Dreams has the erhu, even though it doesn't sound really natural when you compare it to a real one, but it's free. And if i'm not mistaken, that Tell Me song is sampled from a movie, i forgot which one though.

Yea Bobby Valentino's Slow Down do sound more like just regular strings and/or a pad with some pitch bending rather than an erhu
