Today at a pawn shop, I bought a Numark M1-USB mixer, 2 Numark TT-1700 Turntables and 2 Gemini XL-DD50 Turntables fo $60. I figured I couldn't go wrong at that cheap of a price.

I have practiced digital scratching but would like to get into the analog world. But first I need to know how to make sure they are running properly and what not. I don't know if it can be calibrated or maybe inspected somehow...

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Numarks are belt drive so you can't scratch on them. No idea about the Geminis. If anything you could probably sell them on Craigslist and buy a decent turntable with what you make. Do some research.

the gemini's are direct drive. Even if I could just get them to play vinyl that'd be great. But any idea on how to see if they are running properly or anything of that sort?

Play a record? Iunno.

Make sure the platter doesn't wobble, or the tonearm (any movement other than smooth rotation is bad.) Make sure that the motor speeds right back up after you slow/stop the platter. Push all the buttons and make sure they do what they're supposed to. Just common sense stuff I guess. Have the dude play a record though.

just save up for technics they will last you a long long time
