anyone wit Behringer Eurorack UB1202 or mixer knowledge?

i have that model and well 1st things 1st..

what is a mixer i.e. as in whats the point of a mixer? in the whole studio process?

to me so far it seems all its for is to connect everything together which is what led me here...

the manual is pretty much useless....on this..

there is tape in and tape out on the mixer i'm using the tape out to connect to my sound system blue sky montiors which have rca inputs then on the mixer i'm connect my turntable to the tape in on the mixer....

where do i hook up the mpc in all this? aka if i want to play my mpc thru my speakers i have to unplug the turntable...n vice versa

it would be dope if i could do all this together..

actually i need to do this together if i'm to sample from the table to the mpc que no?

aight. I got that mixer. go to tweakheadz.com to learn more about equipment period. ok well if you want to connect a mpc to the mixer all you need to get are 1/4 inch cables and go from the out of the mpc to the in of a channel on your mixer.

A mixer is bascially a board in which you can connect all your external gear and have it all go to into a soundcard or monitors. Man just go to tweakheadz I'm tired of typing and I'm making no sense!

Co-sign . . . Some people just can't take the time out to learn first before jumping head on.

A mixer is used to connet everything to one center piece that can control and monitor the levels of everything and where the sound will be sent to.
 
Do not use the tape out to connect to your monitors. Use the control room outs to your monitors.

Turntable would be better off on one of the 1/4" inputs instead. You cannot control the volume on the tape inputs.

nah main... if yall would have read my previous posts.. i got steal of a deal... i got basically brand new equip (2 months old) on a jack move...

aka i paid $600 for a 1202 mixer, an micron keyboard, blue sky monitors, autio tech studio mic, a pre amp, a pop filter, a mic stand... basically all the works...

i konw i ain't really need all this.. aka i didn't have the knowledge needed to properly utilize it all....but hey i woulda been a full to pass that up... ESPECIALLY since i got a brand new mpc 1000 for $600 as well.... the monitors alone were worth $600 so its like i got all the rest for free....

i'm connect my turntable to my reciever phone in..(i tried connecting DIRECTLY to the mixer but the volume was mad weak even at full pwr)

thne from the pioneer reciever i have a tape out that goes to the tape IN on my mixer...

then from my mixer I use the tape OUT to my monitor system...

if i want to play my mpc on my monitors i have unplug the tape in from the reciever and put in the mpc INTO the tape in, to get sound coming out the monitors...

the problem is.... i want to ONE day record samples from the table to the mpc...

also i thought the whole point of the mixer was so that i wouldn't have to plug and unplug everything n so it could all be used together at once..

also i can't find it in the manuel but the 1202 doesn't seem to have an on/off switch...

that seems ridiculous to me.. n the manuel is pretty useless.. like 3 pg's total...

i was told to use the control outs to my monitors? i'll try that again but it didn't seem to do much good before...

let me know if that helped clarify all this?
