Anyone willing to help a newbie?

So I'm brand spanking new to producing and haven't got the slightest clue on how to start or which programs to use for what. So my questions are which program is super easy to use and affordable? I'm a college student for LA Film school so would there be any programs they could possibly help me purchase? Lastly are there any videos on YouTube that could give me a crash course in this?
