I wouldnt call people who criticize Wayne in this thread haters.....


but i think yall are overreaching it...

Like somebody said Wayne is hit or miss. He throws so many out there and is on so many songs that odds are he'll have a few off the wall ones. Its like Allen Iverson in shooting...... His shooting can get outrageous and derail the whole team but then one night he can go off for 40 points and carry the team


Another thing he goes for da random crazy **** dat nobody thinks of so alotta times it creates a wtf moment. But when he hits its sounds real creative. So applaud him for goin for big one, allotta rappers just throw out the standard generic metaphor......


Listen to Tha Carter 1, Dedication, Tha Carter 2, Dedication 2 and parts of the Drought 3 to get his best punchlines. He has some real good stuff on there....... This new wayne is stuck on drugs and the teeny boppers that love him but the old wayne was a beast....
 
I think he just tries to force lines too often. Since you brought up basketball, if you shoot it's better to take a high percentage shot as opposed to forcing a shot that you know you'll have a hard time making. I think Wayne does the latter of the two when it comes to his raps.

I completely agree wit you. It pisses me off when he gets on a feature and rambles on through 15 straight similes "like a blank, like a blank, like a blank, like a blank"

but like i said in his past he was creative wit da word play. And when he brought up a metaphor it would be pretty good......


I think he's over doin it now cuz dats what all the sheeple like.



Also when Iverson did go off for 40 it was entertaining. So when he does connect it is entertaining its just not always gonna happen.

Why worry about his "bad" punchlines, especially when he's more likely to say hot lines like:

"i stay on track like a box of pumas" or "i got more plaques than Tarter"
