I have been reading some of the threads on this mixer and I am serisouly considering buying one. I actually enjoy the console style layout. Though I can see myself nitpicking about the placement of a few different things, I really think i will enjoy this mixer. But i have a few questions.

Is there a unity gain on this mixer? someone mentioned earlier that if the trims are at 12, and the faders are all the way up that this is unity gain. is this true?

another thing is, how sensitive are the eq's? and the gains? if you touch it will it send the signal through the roof or can you gradually sweep the pots to find just the right spot?

i also read that if you slam the fader into the middle there is a delay? someone mentioned that you can modify the mixer to almost eliminate this delay. can someone ellaborate on that.?

Basically, this mixer will be for my bedroom only, but i am such a sound geek that i am almost never happy with the way anything sounds. I honestly don't mind shelling out lots of money for equipment as long as it will make me happy in the end (i.e. it will have amazing sound and last me years...until the next best thing comes out!)

So could everyone please give me try and answer my questions about this mixer and also give me your honest opinions. Thanks.

actually ! the 62 might be an overkill for a bedroom setup !!! a 32 might be better suited for ur needs ! but heck who am i to advice u on this ;)

well...

i have a chance to get a brand new 62 REALLY cheap..so i'm going to get that one..besides...the 32 has gains in the back...that alone would make me want to get the 62.

how cheap is REALLY cheap if you don't mind my asking?

the mixer is great man, you'll love everything about it. GO for it.

the gains when at 12 o'clock and faders all the way up, everything is at unity, ground zero. the EQ's are sensitive but you get used to them very quickly. you can shape the sound of the music so well with this mixer, by using the EQs.

One thing I like better on Xone 32 is that the headphone cue is post eq. and on 62 not. It means that on the 62 you can´t hear the eq. changes on your headphones.

hey dewd, how much are you getting the 62 for..i'm just trying to keep tabs on what people are paying for it. let me know and i'll see if i can't beat it and have it drop shipped to you from our distrobution center.

thanks!

i believe A&H support has a mod to make the 62 have this feature also.

I own a 32 and love it.. a&h mixers are hella nice... but honestly, they should put a switch to kick the EQ in/out of the pre fade listen - it's good to hear it to adjust it to the desired setting before the fade... but it's also good to be able to hear the actual signal from the deck once you start the fade.

alot of the time... i bring in only the bass with the mid/high all the way down.. and start the transisition.. if I could hear the fading in track WITHOUT the EQ's in the PFL, I could keep the beatmatching more accurate...

so either way there's an up and a downside.

the xone32 and 62 are both awesome boxes.. but the 32 is more flexible in some regards... also smaller, cheaper, less controls...

sounds about right.. the 32 was USD$630 new about 4 months ago when i bought it...

that's not much $$ for alota mixer!

-- No unity gain, but well, there is the main out level. Gains for each channel. Set to 12 for normal spinning, raise to 2 or 3 for extra punch when playing live.

another thing is, how sensitive are the eq's? and the gains? if you touch it will it send the signal through the roof or can you gradually sweep the pots to find just the right spot?

-- The EQs are quite senistive, but they are extremely well defined and you'll get the knack of it in no time. And you can monitor the eq setting by pushing the aux button for each channel. Hit the cue-button and it'll override any aux-setting. Versatile! You can't go wrong with A&H Xone 62.

-- Yes, the sound quality is outstanding. Never heard anything like it before. Criystal clear with well defined highs and mid as well as deep bass response.
