now they just talk about how when kanye west came out and their still talking about jay-z's career....thats how u can tell its dying. Theres nothing new and exciting going on....

Rock needs to come back.... hip-hop is getting lame....none of these young boys now how to rap.... and most of em way too fake to believe.

Just because you're not being spoonfed the new, exciting, interesting stuff, doesn't mean its not out there. Your post says more about your lack of taste and limited focus than it does about the genre.
 
wheres the motivation? i wake up, look for somethin to get hype too so i end up sitting here for hours searching for stuff....missing out on work and low on productivity...this lack of new stuff is killin me.. lol, im dependent on hip-hop man.

You say you are dependent on Hip Hop, if you don't mind me asking, what age did you get into it, what is your current age and what moves you versus what doesn't move you?
 
As much as people talk about the new age Rock artists, people will forever talk about Jimi Hendrix and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
As much as people talk about the new pop stars, people will forever talk about Michael Jackson, Vintage Mariah etc.

I feel you on what your saying but it's not a whole lot different in different areas of music.

Welcome to being all growed up.

Seriously, not sure how old you are but I can tell you from experience there is an age you hit where suddenly no matter how hard you try you are disconnected from the current trend in music. Not much you can do except dig deep to find what you like or have a hand in creating what it is you like to hear.

my pops is late forties(or early 50's i forget) and my grandpa is extremely old lol and they stay up on new music more than me except in edm and punk rock. it depends on the person i'd say.

Get a new hobby. Listening to music gets boring after a while. It's summertime. Turn your radio off and go fishing, camping, jet skiing, or horseback riding.

Heck, even going to the gym and getting in shape is better than complaining about music. There are a million things out there to do and you are complaining about rappers? Step your life experience game up, bro!
 
Boy I'm in here. I went out with a chick with some big azz titties last week and I got in her car and she played...

LOL, that's half the problem. Kid's aren't active like the past. My little 11 and 12Yr cousins are visiting for the summer. They don't even want to go outside and do shit like play sports,. All they want to do is play video games all day, stay on their ipad surfing the net and check out females on instagram. They expect entertainment to find them and have the nerve to complain they are bored. Go outside ninja!!!

I feel what you're saying, but haven't they said that since birth of music? The jazz listeners said rock'n'roll had no soul, rock'n'roll said heavy metal had no soul, and so on.

Nostalgia has a key element in our perception of modern music, but its not just because its modern, the music now feels like it really does lack content.
 
LOL its funny to hear people refer to kanye and JayZee as old school... ive never been into either of them to be honest...

hip hop has been comercialised almost to death and certainly to the point of non recognition... it gets called hip hop just because somebody is rapping or because they are wearing baseball caps... most of this rubbish is POP not hip hop...

music is always getting better and will always improve and evolve... but you do have to search for it in some ways its harder but in other ways easier now with all this media...

also genres come and go, improve and degrade... its all circles and cycles...

one thing that doesnt help though and i see it time and time again on this site is all this "how can i make money from my beats?" or "let me tell you how to make money from your beats!"

real music is about what you can give not what you can get... if your approach is "how can i make money?" then you are making POP not hip hop.
