Yo, sup peepz,

Im thinking on buying one of those two.
The problem is that I dont know which of em im going to choose,
so a little help/opinion/review will be greatly apreciated.

If there's any other choice just let me know.

PEACE!!

I don't really see any difference between the two. But I owned a KeyRig at one point and if you are, or are planning on becoming, a serious keyboard player, the keybed (synth action) is not what you're looking for. You might want to look into something semi-weighted, if this is the case for you. Otherwise they're both decent controllers for the price.

Good evening brother, and thanks for reply.

Im using VSTis (software), so, the only reason Im wanting to invest in another keyboard its coz I want more keys then 25 that I have atm (X-Station 25). Just to make some of my synthsized beats. Its annoying using octave uo/octave down all the time to get the note I want. U know what Im sayin?

However, I would like to know, by ur experience with keyrig, how does it weights, is it heavy or more like a chinese piece? (not disrespecting the chinese stuff) but u know what I mean... :D

PEACE!

It's pretty light. Probably about the same weight as your X-Station, if not a little heavier. With it not having any controls other than the slider and 3 buttons, there's not much to it.

U may not believe, but this piece has perhaps 4-5Kg If im not wrong... Its very solid. The keys are tight too. However the lack of keys is making me to buy a new one as u know. This equip did cost me 600€ 5 years ago... the good thing is that im using ASIO sound card since that (it has soundcard, synth with filters, fx, etc).. thats the main point for I keep this machine, and I still use the keys... but no longer after I get my new keyboard.. It has been dificult to decide.

I have the KeyRig 49 (I needed more keys than my Axiom 25 has).

1) The KeyRig software is really nice for piano sounds and some pads and organ.
2) The key action is not as nice as on the Axiom, but it's ok if you play really really lightly, otherwise it's a bit clunky.
3) Alesis keyboards are known to have troubles with their pitch bends leaking.

I have the Alesis Q49. It's an affordable, working midi controller. It's kept simple - good # of keys w/ pitch & mod wheel. I posted not too long ago that my pitch wheel tends to 'stick' on a half step high or low at times when using it - a quick flick & it's back to the correct pitch, but the fact is it happens. Others have reported the same thing with the Alesis Q49, but it's still a decent controller for $99. I like M-Audio equipment too, and want to try the KeyRig49 to compare. For now, the Q49 is good for me.

Alesis Q49 is a good board if you want something basic, it has one midi out port that the keyrig lacks but the key-rig49 comes with a free piano rack instrument witch the Alesis Q49 lacks. other than that there basicly the same as quality go's. but i like my Alesis Q49 never had any problems with it. even tho some people report problems with the pitch wheel doesn't mean you will have those problems.

I agree w/ BIGpun4ever. Having the 5-pin DIN MIDI connection is nice, and hard to find these days actually. Though the Keyrig comes w/ that piano inst. pack, the Q49 I got came with Ableton Live Lite 8, something that was much more appealing to me for what I want to do.
