I am working on a new album with vocal rap songs and hip hop instrumentals.

Some are slower 90bpm and others faster 120bpm tracks.

I originally thought of a structure:

vocal track
instrumental
vocal track
instrumental
vocal track
instrumental
etc...

Do you think this would be ok. WOuld you be put off by this? Would you think its better to have ALL the vocals at the start then followed by the instrumentals

No, I would balance them more, the way you were thinking. That doesn't mean it should automatically be alternating vocals and instrumentals all the way through. Think about how you'd structure a live set. Which tempos, vocals, keys go where. That would be a good start.

Now, your sequence might have to change depending on the format you're releasing the album in. Will it be all digital (downloads/streaming) or CD? Any way you want. Vinyl? That requires some thought, as there are technical limitations that bear on track sequence that need to be taken into account...
