Good thing I read thru this forum cause the title scared the hell out of me. I'm on my way to buy a mpd 32 today lol

....
So to the point:
i found that when you get to the page where you select SYX file, before you do that go to midi then midi out ports. uncheck always start with all midi ports open option, and pick what port you want firmware to go to.
then finish the pdf instructions until you get to XX done press enter display. before pressing enter and exiting vyzex editor. reopen midi - midi out port and re check always start with all midi ports open. then exit editor and press enter.

hope this helps.

Yes , your help is correct! thank you
This also worked for me in WIN 7

The MPD32 is a fine piece of work,
Just the editor-software that comes with it is kinda crappy or lets say "immature".

Did you ever get your MPD 32 working? May be just on Vista but you should have been able to run the MPD 32 with Reason out the box. I didn't have any issues in either Win XP Sp2 or my new setup Win 7

Vista is known to be a music producers nightmare (sometimes it hits or miss a producer and they get lucky with it.) But fundamentally you rarely fine professional musicians or business people running Vista.

Hope you got it working now. One thing i have seen is sometimes a USB device will have trouble communicating the with Software or Computer and sometimes you can simply unplug the device and plug it into a totally different USB port on your computer and it works perfectly.

I have seen similar issues in a variety ways on different manfuc. equipment so i don't think its your MPD 32 unless you got a bad 1 off the assembly line.

If you can't get it to work call AKAI support 401-658-4032 they may be able to point you in the right direction to get resolved & up and running.

could be your audio interface is incompatable with all those thing you have installed together. i had problems similar with an m-audio midi controller while using a fast track. once i uninstalled the fast track and went back to my old soundblaster. every thing worked fine. i don't have an mpd though. i was told that the fast track would take over from the soundblaster but the soundblaster wasn't trying to hear that.

funny i never had a issue with my mpd32 and i've done all the updates for mine.

I having the exact same problem (pads dont work in reason) all knobs'n'sliders work.. Im on win7, reason 4.01 and MPD32 with 1.03 firmware.. vyzex editor detects when im pressing the pads so they are working.. Am i missing a setting somewhere??
