akai mpc 1000 card reader ISSUE HELP

i just bought a akai mpc 1000 from a guy i guess is the old model is red and blue
my problem is that when i insert the CF card and press mode - load it freeze.
the pins in the card reader looks fine. it also freeze when i startup the mpc with the CF card inserted it only shows 16mb installed and then freeze. whats wrong?.

i also tried insert the CF while in usb mode it could only find the mpc1000 card reader but not the cf card

my mpc
have jj os 3.16 free version
16mb standard ram
just ordered maximum ram waiting for it to come home

didn't knew where this post should be posted at so correct me if this place i wrong :)
 
Your O.S may be corrupt.Try downloading it again and if that doesn't work maybe try another card.A cable may also be loose but since you're getting the memory upgrade you may want to
wait until you get that so you'll only have to open it once.

i can't acces my cf card on the mpc :( i don't know how i can do it else :( but i don't think a cable is lose it worked fine yesterday
 
Just re-load the O.S from your computer if you have a card reader.
If not you can get one for cheap online or at Wal-Mart,OfficeMax,OfficeDepot etc.
