Im looking for a vst with some very hard strong vst's. Does anybody have any suggestions.

impOSCar is very good because its filter can be driven and saturated right within the synth, and it has a filter separation control to give it even dirtier resonant sounds.

However, it's true - ANY flexible synth can sound dirty and aggressive when used properly. There's a friend of mine who uses almost exclusively Albino 2 (not normally known for its aggressiveness) but his tracks sound edgy as hell. It's because he designs the patches himself with a combination of both the "analog" and digital oscillators and does heavy effects processing to give them bite.

Plus I think there's a distortion effect on Albino, zircon. Minimoog emulations work too, although I prefer the sound of Minimonsta to the Arturia's one.

Absynth is capable of getting that screaming ripping dnb type sound (it's expensive as hell though) like other's said impOSCar is a great choice and Albino is capable (also one of my favorites). There's a lot more but those are the things of quality that come to mind.

I want GForce Oddity, because I've been using wav samples taken from the Arp Odyssey ever since I started giving birh to instrumentals, but I tried the demo and it seems like every sound is a "long" synth. Is there any way to shorten them (like one particular drummy bass sound I have from the odyssey which wasn't in the oddity demo)? All that tweaking on those levers don't do shyt for me, I can't make sounds i want. I want presets ready for war.

If someone has Oddity, please talk to ur heart's content before I buy it

ODDITY IS DOPE WHAT DO YOU WANNNA KNOW. ONE THING (AND THIS MAY BE PURELY OPINION ONLY) I FEEL IT SOUNDS A TAAAD COLD BY ITSELF.

Yah, just learn how synthesis works.

You're just browsing through presets right? You probably don't have that sound you were talking about because someone probably just made it by modifying a preset. The demo doesn't even comw with that many presets. The full version comes with a gripload. Plus you can always download banks off sites.

claw, and borderliner are -inexpensive- and you will smile, and Crystal will load soundfonts as basis for your new monster patches, no shortage of creative possibilities, Synth1 has gazillion presets and all the tweaknobs to go from there...
cheers

z3ta (esp with the access virus mod) was a monster as far as being aggressive... maybe too aggressive for my tastes!

i;d say look for synths with additive and fm synthesis...in my experience these really can push the envelope(no pun intended).

dood, if you think you want imposcar OR oddity, buy them immediately!! they are by FAR the best deals ive run across. i use them all the time. and the suggestion for minimonster is good too. that thing screams! cant think too originally right now... but those were good suggestions....

peace.

Hey, in the Oddity, are there any percussive sounds? I'm not talking about drums, but sounds that aren't long and lengthy (which is characteristic to synths) and that fade out after delivering their hard quick attack.

And btw: to have way more features I'd choose the impOSCar to the Oddity. I know the original ARP Odyssey is an all time classic (almost like the Minimoog), 'though the (imp)OSCar has way more features like e.g. much more filter options.
And I'd strongly recommend it for agressive sounds !!

yea, sounds like youre just surfin presets. what you prolly acutally want is a synth with lots and lots of presets....
albino2, FM7, and tera come to mind as some that have billions of presets around.

but you should take the advice, and start makin your own. learn the basics of your synths and just start tweakin. even just learning what ASDR is will help with the question above, and thats pretty basic stuff.

peace.
