Ableton live 8 + Akai MPD24

Can anyone please help me figure out how to set up my MPD24 with Ableton Live8?
I have found very little that is helpful.
Ableton doesnt even recognize my controller.
What is the super easy thing i am overlooking?
Any help is much appreciated.

if you didnt find it already.Go to options>preferences>midi sync and choose your mpd at the 3 top lines.Just search more next time
