LD: How did you link up with Pusha & Kevin Gates for “Trust You“?
AM: Originally the guys who signed Kevin approached me to work on the track for him. They sent me the song and the beat files and asked for some changes to the track. At first they were unsure whether or not it would be for Pusha’s project or Kevin Gates’, but Pusha fell in love with it and ended up using it.
LD: What was the creative process behind it with you & SK?
AM: The track was sent to me. SK had the drum pattern, sound fx and chord progression laid out. The label liked the hook music, but felt Pusha’s verse sounded a little plain on the original production. They wanted me to take the track to the next level. I replaced most of the sounds, changed the chord progression and added in the melodies, then added the switch up for the third verse."
