Madvillainy is a perfect example of lo-fi mixing at its finest. Notice that I didn't say "poor" mixing. You must be new to hip-hop or something, cause a lot of producers mix a lot of tracks with low quality to maintain a grimy, nostalgic essence, not cause they're lazy.

I actually prefer the raw gritty vibe to beats. 9th wonder's beats are nice because they sound funky and not computerized.
 
I dont feel 9th either... His beats are boring, drums are wack, and he hasn't improved.
 
I think you guys are just haters- 9th has style all his own. Gritty drums and samples that are sometimes processed lo fi. I would love to make as much money 9th and have ppl hate me for making beats. On the real if you got skillz you can make beats with a bucket and a stick. More Fruity Loops haters.
 
I think 9th is straight dopeness and niccaz is mad cuz he makes it look so easy and they didnt think of doin what he is doin now plain and simple, period.................

Your making yourself look like a ignorant hoe right now. Am not surprised because I knew this was coming. Your probably one of those dudes that have pictures of studios that aren't even yours frontin like you got high end work, while 9th is getting work using a $100 dollar program and a laptop. Stop fooling yourself kid. Your argument holds no credibility and it's invalid.

You use a sequencer/DAW because you LIKE IT.

Little Brother broke up because of creative differences, 9th Wonder NOT handling his business SOLID with such terrific MC's, he was impassive to the fact, and blew them off.

Feel embarrassed to use FL at 32 years old? You know how old he is??

9th is sick...his #of credits vs. your # of credits....end of discussion........AND ON THE JAZZY PHAE SUBJECT....hes sick as hell...thats one producer that actually does play his own instruments, and arrange actual songs w bridges, and all that, hes a real musician thats been doin it a long time, i mean for christs sake, his pops was a barkay, and that aint nuthin but good music!!!!!

who's 9th wonder? Seriously some of his stuff is cool,he hasn't progressed though. It all does sorta sound the same. Don't blast me though, I know there are legions of his followers here. Some so strongly involved in what he does that they too will never progress.

But on the real, 9th Wonder is overrated...all he's done to date is a bunch of album fillers. he's only produced one single that wasn't even hit (destiny's child girl)

If he used an MPC, he'd just be another producer with a few credits.
