First beat is one I just did today... I'm not big into looping but I figured it was worth a shot.



This beat I've been working on for a while... feels like it's missing some low end.

Looping isnt a bad thing as long as u get a catchy enough loop where ppl will like it no matter how long its looped. A lot of the 90's rap were loops. another thing that comes into play are the instruments u surround the loop around they gotta be hittin. I like the second better the different samples helped the beat to be fresh the whole way through

I think the sampling/flips are pretty dope. I thought the first track could benefit from some drums with a little more character to them. It's nice when snares and hi-hats are able to give a beat a more unique sound you know? I agree with you that the 2nd could use some low end. I think a nice deep bass would fill it out perfectly and then it'd be a real banger. I really like the overall sound of each and I think they could really be dope with just a few tweaks on each. I like your "Only You" a lot. But it is indeed missing a good bassline.
Add some weight to it and it would be perfect. Good sample work!

great samples for both of them... the 1st reminded me of an old kanye beat, maybe it was the drum pattern. 2nd one was also cool but in need of a bass line.

i prefer the 1st one.
