Just uploaded a new track that has a Timbaland style to it.

Let me know what you think, whether good or bad, and I will always provide feedback to links you leave.

I'm feeling the percussion, but I'm not really liking the oneshots or chops that you used for the main melody. I can't pinpoint exactly why, just sounds like it could be more developed.

Mixing wise, its ok. You have a lot of percussion going on, and I can hear that you used panning to create space for much or it. For the most part it works, some of the elements come through as overpowering though. I like the arrangement though, it definitely is reminiscent of Timbaland's drums.

I like this... it has a Rick Rubin feel to it for me. The cross delay/ping pong on the perc is good but the hihats should be more central in the mix. I like the synth with the high res that hits 3 times then 5 times. Maybe lift the cut off freq a little and bring it out more in the mix. The drums are a little over compressed in my opinion, I would lower the ratio and lift the gain a little.

All in all a good track and it deffo has the energy of a good instrumental. Use some sidechaining to make the bass more driving to see if it improves the track.

Good work - Well done

this sounds pretty good man,. deffo unique. The percussion seems a tad too loud in the mix. i understadn they are the focal point so to speak but they are a bit too loud in comparison with the main melody. Keep up the good work man.

I appreciate the feedback, Oriax, and will def take a look at the percussions. Just checked out your Inhale Ashes joint on SoundCloud and am following you now!

Damn the drums do sound A LA TIMBALAND! Cool. I like it, it's different from the mainstream stuff. Love the originality. Talent man. What DAW are you using?
I'm a producer/rapper too. Check my song out, yeah? :)

By far the best part of this track was listening to the width in the stereo image! The percussion section is great!

The only thing stopping me from listening to this track is the fact that without a vocalist it's just a looped chord progression.

Wow this percussion is complex for real lol, you went in on the arrangement with this one lol it's quite different, and for me it works. Some of the elements might be able to be mixed a bit more thoroughly, the hi hats come out as loud to me for example, but otherwise I like what you've done and how creative it is, good job man

I def agree about the hi hats and lowered their and the open hats volume as well.

Thanks for the feedback and I appreciate it. You're right that it's a looped chord progression...with the guitar chops. There are also 2 synth parts in each verse, 2 separate synth parts for the chorus as well as a bridge (that I'm sure many people don't get to before moving on to the next track) with all different music.

compression, that has been mention already...but the track itself is dope, keep me into it with my head nodding...haha, i think ur samples at 19 and throughout dont really sound that great, i understand the concept behind it, but i think u could have found something better, or maybe played something simple...ur chorus and bridge arrangements are nice man...love the stereo effect u gave...keep at it, would appreciate it if u check out my track

There is a ton of width on this beat. I feel like you could have spent more time on really bringing out the dynamics of the synth as they progressed. Growth is an essential part of the music and some of your synths stayed stagnant. They can grow either through a melody, or through the tonality of the synth. The groove is solid though! I would definitely put some play on the kick drum and snare combo. Ghost notes and fills could really make the beat pop!

Leave some love -
