Strings (FREE DOWNLOAD) F4F (Oldschool hip-hop)

Sounds pretty amateur.. mix has no energy, sounds are kind of cheesy, patterns are repetitive and don't really have a groove. Frequency balance of the mix is ok, I'll give you that, but you got a lot of experience to gain. That doesn't mean quit, it means if you really want it, keep at it, a lot. Sorry if that's harsh, but I never sugarcoat my opinions in this business, it helps no one and causes people to be lazy.

I prefer honest then dishonest feedback, I'll work on it :)

I like your sample work. Piano melody is a particular highlight. The double time keys and then the deeper keys. The deeper, drawn out piano hits need some bass layered in behind them. Some sub bass just matching the existing melody would do wonders here. Actually, you could even layer these existing piano hits with deeper ones by dropping down an octave or two with the exact same notes.

Your snare also is too soft and weak in the mix. I would layer this with something snappier and try to give it more prominence.

Because you have so many high frequency instruments at play here they are clashing. The higher double timed piano keys are particularly clashing with your strings. You will need to do some EQ work to clean this up and give them their own space in the mix. Hope this helps.
