well, as you might have heared, I try to make different styles, depending on my mood of the moment. And being a musician and not a 'beatcreator' my aim is to make all styles.
I started out as a drummer, later on I learned to play the guitar, then got a keyboard for my birthday and at the time, I tried to record to a tapemachine. The tapemachine was first replaced by a minidisc player/recorder. By then I discovered MIDI and now I use Sonar to play and program my MIDI gear. I now own 2 drumkits, one accoustic and a roland v-drum, so I use the module of the V-drum to program drumpatrons as I see fit, and use a roland keyboard to program other instruments. I also have a korg synth, but not use it that often, I should because the MS2000br sounds fanfreakintastic. So I have so many options that I choose to just make MIDI parts to be adjusted if the idea was good enough. On my soundcloud you will find some of those idea's. MIDI rules because of the flexibility, like all pro's knows and use it.
But what I really should do is, pick up my Ibanez guitar, and play the notes I program and give it that authentic guitar feeling, and pick up my drumsticks and play those drumpartern and give it that realistic drumgroove. I tried to just mouseclick it all, as you might hear, so it's not that good. I even did not play my keyboard. It's all just clicked by mouse. And that sounds pretty different. It also takes the most fun out of playing music, the thing I started with in the first place.
If you ask me, that why most of the 'beatcreators' all sound the same. They just click a pattern, which ofcourse they thought over but, not being able to play (with) the music they can not come up with something other will not find out themself. You know what I mean?
Sound quality is good with most of the created beats by amateurs, but they all sound the same to me. Hell, they allmost use the same sounds to. And ofcourse big time producers hook in to that and mimic that kind of music, so the 'beatmakers' will like there production in a split second just for reaconising, but the pro's have that special twist, called "variation, lyrics, storytelling, groove and promo-money", do you feel me?
I think it is because of the homecomputer music quality as to composition is going downwards for quite some time now, because people can make music, that is simpel structure, within a few minutes, and they are proud of doing so (which is a good thing!!), but they should try harder to make ENjoyable creations, with a lot of original compositions, not the same tik-tak--beat over and over again, and then go wild on that. Even the dance scene is getting pretty messed up. Pro's still provide variation, as to the amateur doing the same tricks throu the song so much it het's borred. And that high pitch noise... please, did they forgot that good sounds suppose to sound GOOD? And have at least some groove or vibe on it? It sure sounds that way to me, maybe I am to old, but real music is timeless.

Yo B,
If you like, I can give you some REAL comment on your music, but then you should know, I am gonna talk biz, so it sounds like I hate everything I hear,
but if you listen very hard, you truth will come to you at last, to win it all, and be the one, to rock the hive and knock the hell out of competition. Can you take that? Can you stand real love?
