^^^yeah, I get the idea that the type of "suburban guys" who land gigs like that are angry with us for being in their tax bracet. I have a few neighbors who I get that idea about. I'm sure they'd spend all day f**kin with me for no reason if we worked together.

I used to live on a golf course and they would hit golf balls at me when I used to come outside, lol. They'd turn their backs so I couldn't tell which one of 'em did it. It was an apartment complex / golf course.

The dudes I work with just look at me funny when they think I'm not aware that they're looking. If they know I'm conscious of them they "ACT" nice.

My wife's friend worked in a hospital and she used to have to get on the intercom and say stuff. One day one of the doctors came out and asked her little group of people to call someone over the intercom and she said "Okay..." she told my wife that the doctor told her "Have so and so do it because she's more articulate than you..." and walked off with his nose turned up.

Corporate America is funny, but I bet warehouses and all of that are 10x's worse.

Wow, they're still cheap as hell! This was a while back when I lived there. Cool place except for the people that hit golf balls at me.

It used to look a WHOLE LOT better when I lived there. There was no brown grass like in the photo.

@Rome, I'm sure your wife's friend just looked ignorant in her scrubs, lol. I'm just cutting jokes.

All i've said from the beginning is we hold ourselfves to higher standards than we hold others when in the end, yes, even in nursing scrubs avg "suburban guy" is gonna think that black woman is in school or changes old men diapers for $10/hr. before they believe they're looking at an RN or BETTER. It's sad we look and see the same because of other's programming us to see nothing more.

Now apply that back to the "sagging" issue this thread began with. All I'm saying is it's become so universal "subburban guys do it just as regularly as we do. They don't get the lecture about if they go to jail and sag, or if shyt get real and they need to run...or fights breaking out. They don't get profiled by police with "reasonable suspision" because laws have been put into place...they just go to the park...and skateboard go home to a nice house, go off to college and eventually run the damn country.

I can't make myself go any further in depth with it, in the end this isn't the forum for it, just a funny world sometimes.

I can say that I've never experienced racism in the workplace since I left the military.

It has been the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. White people have helped me every step of the way, some of them barely even knew me. One situation happened as recently as a few months ago. I did a presentation and the director of our dept kept calling me to her office just to try to get me to do more. Then I started getting these emails about management and I knew she was behind it. She could've just stayed in her plush office, she was leaving in about a month anyway BUT before she left, she helped me put together a bio that got me promoted. I'm the second highest ranking person in my group and people have been here way longer than me. She also put me in for some other stuff.

It's been this way for a minute... that's why you see me say to represent yourself well. I don't know if I'm their token or if it makes them feel good inside to help a black person.... but I'll take the money - my family can spend it, lol.

... again, white people have helped me every single step of the way and I'm nothing like that college educated black guy you know... and they know it too. Being a decent person pays off, it's not an act. If you're cool with me, I'm cool with you. I can pick up on funny ish in a split second though.

maybe I should have posted pictures of white people sagging, cause I hate sagging in general white or black. black people are always gonna have it harder though. I see where your coming from. for example here in cleveland there's a club where wearing you hat backwards is prohibited, but they got reports that they only told black people to turn their hats around. the news station did a investigation with a hidden camera. they had 2 guys go in with their hats backwards, one white one black they didnt say a word to the white guy but they told they black guy to turn his hat around or leave, smh

^^^I said that in my second post in this trhread! Hats backwards, sagging pants, tattoos, ect. It's a double standard for it all.

It's just annoying when the lil black kid(who may be on his way to the park to skateboard)get's told about what will happen to him in jail or how gangs aren't cool, or how he can't run or fight in his attire while the lil white kid just goes to the park and skates oblivious to the big bad world.

Yet when Trayvon leave the house lookin like us black folk have told him not to his entire life and get's himself into some shyt...

I'm not oblivious, i understand why as blacks we're told these things...just ranting.

Of course he's going to think certain things about her because that's what he's been shown and that's how we've been portrayed. He's not the end all though, you don't have to change his mind because there are other people around. It doesn't matter what he thinks, other people probably thought she spoke well or they wouldn't have her get on the intercom.

It's like you're saying to throw your hands up because you don't like the way things are... that's what they're going to think about you anyway. That's not totally true, people like me and Troup are out here trying to change minds, hearts and souls.
