older black folks always will say that white people are above blacks .Makes em sick, nobody is above anybody. I mean yeh, you will have it hard in life as a black/woman or man because there is still racist white folks out here mainly because of there older family members still holding on to the ignorance. I honestly cant wait for the older generation to die off

Morally, nobody is above anybody. Money wise, education wise, social acceptance wise... they are still above black people. We had a decent chance though, we gave it a good run. I thank MLK and the rest of the activists, we were on track. We went hard in the paint.

Then we started to drop out of school again, sell drugs when they know "the system" is against them, got single mothers raising fatherless kids and we sing about it on records, Daddy got 3 baby mamas and Momma is constantly dropping off her kids with Grand Mama so she can go to the club and find ANUTHA man, lol. Then we started to do what this threads about - sagging pants so the rest of society goes WTF is wrong with THOSE IDIOTS, then we got tats on our face because somebody rich as Lil Wayne did it and the dudes doing it make $10 an hour - they ain't Wayne, tat's on their necks. Gold grills... things the make businesses say "We don't want you representing US... psst"

Colin Powell said that only 30% of African American men can pass the military entrance exam, LOL! Young dudes y'all let us down. We didn't sweat the entrance exam, we sweated basic training - you know where when you step off the bus they tell you to BEAT CHO FACE!!!! that means do push ups until your arms lock up and you start trembling. We didn't sweat the entrance exam... smh.

I'll say this.... from where I'm sitting... everybody is moving up past US. People that are curious about us used to make up stuff and guess what we were like, now the can look on YouTube and get all of their per-conceived notions confirmed.

I read an article that said if you're at a Miami Heat game, Lebron James is pretty cool... but if you're a white woman in an alley... not so much. It's perception. Represent your PEOPLE well.

Pretty much, you're messing things up for your kids but you can't even see that far down the line. It's seems that everybody else can though. Some of you use your small mind to stay in your small world.

It's true. I don't see any other race so preoccupied with keeping up a good appearance for the white people. Only Black people seem to make every one of its members a representative for the whole race.

In the US, no other race were a slaves. Only one group of people have historically have had it worse in the US--Native Americans. Outside of that group, blacks have been kicked in the azz historically more than all other groups, and they are still nuccas. This is not a AA discussion or a comment on the current state of black folk in the US, but a historical fact.
This is stuff is too complex to talk about here, but if u are black don't forget your black even in 2012 with a black (half white) President. We are not in a new racial era.

We ain't doing too bad, it's just that we seem to highlight only our negatives and use the negatives as an indictment of the whole race. I never understood that. 3 black dudes on my street are in college right now on academic scholarships, but people only remember the dude who got raided by the feds... smh on that one.

FYI, sagging didn't start in jail, that's randomness some "out the loop" person got confused and wrongfully documented. I'm leaving it at that to stay politically correct.

Sagging has been around forever(like since early 80s in urban communities), just slowly got worse and worse. In the 90s, urban fashion changed alot because designers started making baggier jeans that when sagged looked alot more noticeable. Now people wear jeans off thier azz with these smedium tshirts so nothings being covered. Skinny jeans and tight t shirts have alot more to do with identifying yourself as a homo than sagging your jeans BTW.

I'm 32 years old. I do not wear tight jeans. I wear a belt. I don't put my jeans on my waste. But ain't nobody seeing my boxers and if I had to take off my shirt to hmmmm....let's say help some cute stranded chick on the side of the road change a tire, there would be nothing indecent about how my clothes sat.

As a kid I used to hang my pants off my azz. I've whooped asses and stomped dudes out while holding my pants up, jumped a few fences and outran cops with pants hanging off my azz. It's urban culture. And by white slaves I meant factory workers. You can research this. There used to be factories where you stayed in the houses owned by the factory and paid in money only usable in the factory stores. This kept these workers from being able to leave the factory because the factory provided everything they needed and made it impossible to leave because they didn't have any money that wasn't factory money. These factories also loved to let you run up a tab just so that they could have you work it off and have an excuse not to pay you. That's slavery right there
