One advantage of music gear I'll point out is we have an amazing used market that is generally always full of great stuff for great prices. These studios buy stuff all the time that they end up using for one project and then put up for sale to get more new stuff, and you can often get great deals on some higher end stuff by going that way, especially since they generally take great care of their gear.

It's the same in cycling, my other major hobby. I do group rides with a "fast group" locally, and the slowest of the group are often the ones with the $5,000 bikes. The ones who end up leading the group are riding around on $600-$1,500 bikes and focus on their own technique. Professional cyclists get as many $11,000 throwaway bikes as they want only AFTER they have demonstrated overwhelming talent.

P.S., I did buy a Maschine recently, but I sold my MPK Mini, padKONTROL, Nocturn, Orochi, and Ergodex (basically my entire mobile setup) to do so. I'll post some pics of my corner setup whenever I can find that damn phone.

well its their money to spend right? if they like having a bunch of different gear why do you feel you need to justify it? I am all for simple setups but I also see nothing wrong with having every MPC if you are into MPCs. I see nothing wrong with having machine and a MPC if you are into that kind of thing. Sometimes you may want to work on the MPC and others on machine. Gear is too personal to try and convince someone to buy by your standards rather than their own.

Yeah I know... I really need some, but the Klipsch speakers are decent, also i use headphones a lot of the time... I would go out and buy some, but i am saving up for a car lol.

To a certain extent I will agree with you. I am to that point myself where I have told myself I need to quit buying more gear and spend my time actually practicing my technique versus spending all the time debating about gear, and in guitar center buying more stuff. Eventually it does get counter productive as more time is spent trying to learn the gear itself instead of getting better at making music.

That's a crazy studio man. I'm a couple years older and have about 1/2 the stuff you do.

If I were you, i'd sell some of that stuff for proper monitors and room treatment.

Ye Scorch it's there in the exif data .
Just thought it funny to be missing the most important part of an audio set up , but be able to record the fact with a camera of comparative value .
Might be my strange sense of irony .

That's crazy you knew it was a T2i hahaha.
It's MINE hahaha i use photography to make money and purchase music equipment..... kinda ironic lifestyle i know haha.

Right now i have the kit lense (18-55mm) but yeah i like my studio hahaha
