(and I also said that my son is good so now I have no worries about him being affected by the "It's just a (insert ridiculous thought here)" generation, I was just revisiting this topic. I'm not having anymore kids so you can let your kid wear pink and play with barbies. It's just a shirt and it's just a doll... right?)
... and I have finally come to peace with LIVE 8, so I'm back to making music... HEAT on the way (not 20 minute technique practice songs like the one I posted - that song was a trap beat (kind of) until I swapped the drums out...).

Here ya go Foot. You can probably work with 'em better than I can. I'm back in school, working out with the wife, doing yardwork and 50 other things.... OH!!! Here is a WILD discovery, I was cleaning my rims on my car after I was doing some yardwork... I didn't feel like drying the rims off... so I took my LEAF BLOWER and pointed it at my rims and it was just like coming out of the car wash. Air drying your rims with a leaf blower cuts the drying time in half... even less than half. You'll look crazier than a mf but you'll be done faster and if anybody asks what you're doing... just tell them you got the idea from the drive thru carwashes... (blowing forced air on your car...). Shit Works! No streaks - none o dat. I have an electric leaf blower, not the super loud gas powered one.

This drum loop only has 3 drums...
Here's how I made it... (for the rest of FP, Foot probably can make that pattern - this is me doing my FP duty...)
I have a REDRUM with all of the Gate Outs routed the the Gate In's on a KONG DRUM... (actually it's two REDRUM's because I had to have routing to all 16 pad on the Kong Drum - you can see a minimized REDRUM if you look close enough)
THE BPM IS 130 - (this loop could be RECYCLED to play at any tempo though)
The STEP LENGTH IS 32 ... (see the RED 32 in the next screenshot)
The first drum hit is a KICK on steps 1 - 16 (look at where it says EDIT STEPS it's on 1-16)
The KICK continues on STEPS 17-32 (look at where it says EDIT STEPS it's on 17-32)
Then comes the snare hit set to 9 on steps 1-16 AND 17-32
Snare on steps 1-16
Snare on steps 17-32 (in the same place... you aren't looking at the same screen shot)
The 3RD drum hit runs a NURSE REX LOOP PLAYER in KONG DRUM. Its a Hi Hat pattern - but it's playing at 130 bpm (about 2x's it's normal speed because I didn't do anything to it - ANY .rex loop could go here - I tried some that sounded better - but I hadn't intended on making anything). The hit that runs the .rex loop hits on the 1.
Here's the rex loop on PAD 3 in the KONG DRUM being driven by CHANNEL 3 from the REDRUM...
The breakdown you hear on bars 7 & 8 is caused by a DELAY with the ON / OFF switch animated... here's the DELAY (look under the .rex player)
Here's the ON / OFF animation... I used to always do my break downs with a delay...
After I hit play, I got the loop in that SoundCloud link...
If you put in 808's and Claps and don't add a rex file... you'll have the beginnings of "something sorta" trappish. I changed the drums to some I liked...
and that was that. I wanted to do something other than loop it but ehh... I have to get up early n shit.
... the only reason is sounds fast is because the hi hat loop is playing at 130bpm and the spacing of the other drums make them appear to be playing at 65 bpm... the snare is on the 9 instead of the 2 & 4 (like most new people start out doing), .... most people just refer to this as "double-time"
The moral of all of those screenshots is.... swap out drums... you'll get nice surprises every now and then.

Preciate that Tyree! I'm trying not to ruin my online presence on Twitter like I have on FP so I don't tweet much wild ish... unless I'm under the influence. I'm more of a reader on there throughout the day. I be seeing everybody's tweets and I click on links if people post 'em. I have the Soundcloud app so it's easiest to listen to Soundcloud songs vs. other types of links.

I used a program called Fast Capture (I got it back when it was free), I just captured all of the screenshots and renamed them sequentially and uploaded them. I just had to make one link on FP, copy and paste it a few times and then change the number in the sequence of the links for the additional screenshots. There could be a TON of tutorials like this for quick and dirty things that people ask like "How do I do a snare roll?"... or different break down techniques etc.
... but instead of people understanding that people will have disagreements on topics, people like to hold grudges over nothing. When this thread is on the 50th page, there will still be people that will fester over some of the stuff that was said in it. I know you won't Jaylip, you seem to be a good sport and know that people are mostly on web forums to kill time.

Possible ways to ruin your online presence -
e-fighting, talking negatively about people you may potentially run across, participating in heated discussions about touchy subjects (like TPOM and religion), appearing to be under-educated, getting caught in lies, being arrogant, not playing nice in the sandbox, being a spammer, being a nut-rider, talking badly about women, seeming unapproachable or hard to work with, being a whiner, etc. (I'm guilty of 2 or 3 of 'em - I used to participate in e-fights just to have a battle of wits... did it so much, I got good at it, ... I should've logged off and made some music)
Pretty much you have to have a FAKE name if you're going to do any of the above on THE INTERNET, don't use your real BUSINESS name. If you've already made some of those mistakes, try not to continue making them.
As the world moves forward... who you are online, is who you are according to other people. People are being conditioned by FaceBook to believe that you are who you are online...
It's part of the evolution of GOING OUTSIDE (you can GO OUTSIDE electronically now, it's not just a physical thing)... it's like how people that say they're great at football are only good at football on Xbox or PS3...
Most people are curious enough now to try to find out stuff about you without you knowing...
People are going to "JUDGE" whatever it is you type... whether you're being "yourself" or not. You're almost like Denzel Washington in Training Day... some not so smart people in Montana will not know him as Denzel Washington but will call him Alonzo...

New people reading this, don't do anything mentioned above. It will possibly never be linked back to you but with the internet becoming almost as commonplace as underwear... whatever you "showcase" about yourself... people will "JUDGE" you for. For the most part, I think 90% of the people that have read my posts know that even I ! think all of the efighting is ridiculous, lol. It's sort of like battle rapping to me, except people are more apt to destroy their bedrooms from a put down they presume that everyone is laughing at. I've come to realize that having humor online is a weird talent, I'm not funny at all in real life and get told that I'm too serious by A LOT of people. I come to the internet to act NIG-NANT (possibly to my own detriment).
Hopefully, this is good advice to an up and coming future producer. Never do anything that's trackable. Don't let people put vids of your on Youtube that reflect negatively on you, no FB tagged photos of you doing wild ish,... keep it old school... when people only "heard" about stuff... no permanent email trails, youtube vids, wild web posts, etc.
People hold on to ish. This girl from Jamaica found me on FB and had pictures of me when I was in elementary school.... she kept them this long. SCARY! Now I can never say I didn't have nappy hair as a kid because she kept proof.
Online interaction was in it's infancy when we all thought it was a modified version of an enormous food fight... nobody realized that nobody was going to clean the food up and we had to wear spaghetti around on our faces until we changed our name...
There are some people I see on Twitter that used to be on FP... sometimes in my mind I automatically think "There's that idiot again..." lol... but most of the time they're idiots on Twitter too. Sometimes it the other way around... people that seemed serious on FP... act differently on Twitter. I would say as far as your "rep" goes.... I'd rather have my "dirt" on this site rather than make a "bad name" on Twitter (or something) where the interaction is more personal.
I'm not changing my name though (anywhere... biggrome is the only name I've ever used online).

There is no good that can come from this. That article Feloneous posted WOULD HAVE NEVER even been an issue years ago. People just didn't think like that.
It's happening to a lesser degree in certain places but overall... it's happening to A LOT.
