are these 5 things going to be the only new features? or are they just the ones being showcased and there are other updates as well? im hoping someone can slip that answer out there lol

No. There will also be a list of detailed improvements and tweaks to the engine and core code of the program. This list of stuff will more than likely be what most Reason power users are looking for to determine upgrading. Minor enhancements excite power users more than new instruments and effects and whatever else new content they throw out to excite the masses.

I imagine it can. Computer Music magazine once talked about how you could actually master a song in Reason. They took a 3 or 4 minute .wav file and put the whole song into NNXT and just triggered it with one long midi note. Then they ran it through the M Class suite and made it sound real nice.

My partner did that and it worked, but he prefered to rock Protools because of vsti's.

lets review...

Kong - ableton live, fl studio, cubase (could be more; only ones i know for sure)

Dr OctoRex - pretty unique to Reason (a little favor of stylus rmx)

Neptune - cubase (props may have taken this feature alittle further than cubase)

Blocks - ableton live, cubase, fl studio, (could be more; only ones i know for sure)

Live Sampler - ableton live, fl studio, (could be more; only ones i know for sure)

again, it seems like Record/Reason took functions from other products and made them their own....

well I guess the next feature will be this king Kong thing everybody be taking about... I see a image of a crown now

yeah my 01x does the same thing...motorized faders are needed in more controllers...there was a midi controlling keyboard that had them but word is it was kinda buggy and got discontinued

Exactly motorized faders, yes. I know you're happy with you joint.

Tomorrow the KONG DRUM DESIGNER will be revealed. Its a sampler/drumsynth with built in Fx and 16 pads.

The way i see it Reason 5 will be the biggest let down this year. Fanboys are too busy celebrating to see that the props are giving them functions they have been asking for for 4 years (audio in).

NO library update and NO Fx updates. And they also had the nerve to update the one device that that least needed update. Octorex is a JOKE.

If you give a starving man a cracker, he'll be ever gratefull. And that's exactly what the props are doing. They are skimming on functionality to keep users hungry, feeding them that same old BS about making the best of what you got for the sake of "stability". When 90& of the tracks you are hearing on the radio were made with REAL DAW's and "unstable" plugins. But dont get me wrong, I love Reason :D Just hate the marketing strategies.

and you told you that 90% of the records were made with real daw, and by the way whats a real daw because 90% of record that are on the radio were made in either fl or reason. what are you talking about. if you don't like the upgrade then don't purchase. i for one am using reason 5 and record 1.5 right now. so i can speak on all of it features because for 1 they havent even told you all the features yet they only broadcasted 5 new features. name one daw out the box that has a better mixer than record.

mrgibbs you take these comments to heart, it's like you work for propellerheads loll..

This is what im waiting to see, but the new features alone make the upgrade worth while realistically.

@KB GOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT DAMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Now I know the hint , "SHU PROGRAM NUCCA, KING KONG AINT GOT ISH ON ME "!!!! speechless!

@Focus thanks for the link man

I am impressed with the new updates, I am logical, if I were to ask Props for 20 things and they only gave me 7 I would take that because at least they listen. If I ask Protools for one thing and that's ADC they aint giving that! Also I would love to see fit to screen editing of the audio waves in Record/reason, it's kinda small still if you magnify, PT got that part right. if they could do the fit to screen thingy I would love that.

if nnxt has input sampling like the video indicates it will offically be a ASR 10 replication
I sold my asr 10 for nnxt. So this will be offical
They showed NN19 can record and mention we can now create NNXT patches with loop points
That means we can sample external gear or vsti and replicate them and create refills this night be the best option for getting vsti sounds in reason
When I has my mpc I Sampled into the mpc and played the melodys as Samples
it does and u chop in it just like an asr 10 except u have an edit window that u can see the sample in

Props got the formula right tho other apps have these features
But non have a good work flow
Fl is good on workflow as well
But Reason is playing catch up that's true but For us reason users its. Amazing
Only people who complain for feel let down are the ones who aint happy with there
Current daw and they want to switch

Any way I'm extreamly happy with these updates if your not move the hell on to another thread

Xabiton I don't mind the little window I'm excited for this. Feature in nnxt
Most people don't understand how nnxt is the best sampler now it actually samples its
Game over none of these kids had emu or ensoniq products so they don't appreciate nnxt

also people lets keep the arguing down to a minimum. I dont want this thread to get closed or derailed into a bad direction but if it gets too bad i will thanks.

i did not know there was a new sheriff in town...

congrats X

if a man can play piano and have that beat making knowledge, then making music would be so much more easier and fun.. just think of an idea in your head and play it out on the keyboard

Yes that's me all the way I can play anything that comes in my head, from the drums with the melody, counter melody and then lace it with more sounds , is so much fun. I learned on my own, I have always wanted to play piano, never went to school. I started in like 2004 now I can play, I was practicing every day. but I can also play guitar on a keyboard too. the young guy he is so sick with it, he started when he was 5 he said, he's 21 and he's a freakin master at the keyboard. It's just his drums, and I am helping him with that, he is nice on the guitar but he is better at piano and his guitar skills will make his track sound real nice. I think my typing skills helped me to learn quicker, along with connecting my notes of what I hear to my finger spread etc. But whatever I hear comes to mind I can make it and I need the type of stuff that can make the sound I hear in my head or come close to it so I can just add the drums and other sounds and come up with a track. I learned how to arrange, intro, chorus, verse, B-Section, chorus etc.

yah man, that is the way to go...
I have a "learn and master piano" dvd, 14 dvds in total.. 56 videos
the dude in it is such a good teacher, but it's gonna take some time to watch it all, making some progress tho

want to make some original music and give the sampling a break
I have the m-audio keyrig49, but I add to upgrade to the keystation88 to get the full range for the tutorial
