Freestyling is a side note of musical success. It ain't necessary.

Thanks to somebody for pointing out that wasn't even a freestyle she was spitting, whoever made the youtube video is jockin too.

lol i dont think she would even have to be catagorized as a freestyle rapper she makes songs being cute is her thing and shes good at it. if you wanna hear deep rhymes shes not for you. i cant freestyle i have to really be feeling it and i still stumble

Freestyle nowadays means just spit an impromptu random verse you have memorized. J Cole & Joell can certainly do that. Nicki did it on the BET Cypher & The Deal.
 
So if it's such a big deal for her to being able to freestyle. . .It shouldn't be too much if I expected every producer in here to write a music score (that makes sense). . .FREE HAND. . . no notation software, no midi. . .just a pencil and empty sheet music. . .

I'm not saying that everyone in here CAN'T. . .just my $0.02

Up until about 5 years ago Rap was selling decent as hell... [Famous] rappers make more money than alotta other musicians, but that's like comparing TV rappers to indie rockers though, no fair at all.

I don't know, I'm not even doing it for money anymore, seriously.
 
i love how the defenders on here are twistin this to something it really wasn't.

no ones mad at nicki for not being able to freestyle (freeverse, universe, verses and scriptures or whatever these new rappers are calling it now days)

the problem (and hillarious part) is that the stuff she doesn't shouldn't really be that hard to memorize or make up on the spot. hell it sounds like she makes up half the stuff she says on the spot anyway.

I've never liked Nicki Minaj. That "freestyle" was garbage, even worse than her written flows.

I think dudes halfway watched the vid because they wanted to critique. She was asked to "drop a 16"(not freestyle), she graced her fans(not sceptics, and I'm on niether side, I don't check for homegirl see her when she's out there hard, no other time)with a 16 that will appear on a song she was about to go record with Bow Wow. She admitted she had to try to remember the entire thing because she just wrote it.

I find it funny that the "offense" in this thread are reaching for a reason to say something negative about someone they don't know.

I have bad personal history woth her old camp and have nothing to say about her music. As much bad personal history as I have with Game, I've never discussed his music. Why are you studying every move a person you don't f**k with and don't personally know makes? A girl at that?

You are the ones tracking her every step waiting for her to trip and coming up short of a stumped toe posting like she fell on her face. That wasn't even a step in a wad of chewing gum. If you knew tha b**ch we'd still be on that remy diss footage that anyone who's been around her 5 mins. knows was her. The fact haters left that alone so quickly is proof y'all don't even know tha chick, lol.

why would it be hate to simply state you don't like her music? i mean i understand the point about cats watching her every move knowing good and well they don't like her or her music (i feel knowing her is irrelevant to if u like her music or not)?

Most def. I see it all the time on YouTube. A lot of people will watch a video from an artist they don't like and leave comments. If you don't like it don't watch it. If someone asks your opinion then that's something different, but a lot of people go out of their way.

All emcees are NOT freestyle emcees. Thats like saying all church-goers should be able to speak in tongues. Is a christian any less of a christian if they cant speak in tongues?

Freestyling is an art and a gift. Just like graf artists and B-Boys, freestyle artists were blessed with a gift to spit off the dome. AND I AINT TALKIN BOUT THESE NIGS OUT HERE SPITTING "WRITTENS". Im talkin bout poeple actually droppin gems when they spit off the top.
