For some unknown reason cubase has decided to stop recording audio. I have my mic set up as usual and have recorded recently but since I altered the VST Audiobay cubase won't record anything. Any idea why?

The mic is being picked up by the mixer and coming out of my speakers so there is no fault there.

It's probably a simple fix but I can't work it out.

Appreciate any help.

this is the wrong section but I guess you forgot to activate the record button

It could be that, but I happen to know a lot about Cubase. What Sound Card do you use LdN2 ?

emu 004 go to the emu mixer and click the new session icon then selct product default sometimes mine blanks out too

Click on the EMU mixer (patchmix DSP) and check if you have a send from the mic input channel to ASIO IN Host 1 / 2

Okay, have you updated it recently ?

no I haven't, but as I say, it was working fine up until about 2-3 days ago.......

I tried loading a new session on the mixer but that didn't fix it. L

the mixer recognises the input whether it's the mic or mpc. There is a send on the pci card in R & L.

The audio bay is working well?

Go back to your VST CONNECTIONS window( F4 on the keyboard) and create a MONO input bus.
Re-select the physical input your mic is connected to under the DEVICE PORT column.

What VST Audiobay? What version of Cubase? There's VST Connections, and Mediabay in Cubase 4 and up. I don't know of anything called VST Audiobay.

Try this. Open VST Connections and check the inputs tab and make sure it's showing the correct driver under "Audio Device". Make sure the device port section shows the correct inputs from your audio device. Do the same with the outputs tab. Jump over to Studio tab. There's a bluish button that says, "Disable Control Room". If you're not using it just disable it. If you are using the Control Room, then make sure that under "audio device" it shows the correct drivers from your audio device. "Device Port" should show the correct inputs from your audio device.

I hope that solves it.
