I feel you troup, i can't really think of anything a person can do that's more demoralizing than trying to make it in the music industry. I personally would probably never sell any of my gear but i damn sure would start investing my time elsewhere as a means of income.

But do it big troup! imma pray for us both.

Reasonable Doubt was so good that Jay Z could never reach that level again... I was let down by everything he made after it. I bought his second one but skipped a lot of the songs...

Wu Tang clan too... they couldn't match 36 Chambers...

Nas could never match Illmatic...

Snoop could never match Gin and Juice...

bunch more too...
 
Troup, from doing everything you have done to get where you are I am pretty sure you could find a very solid career in anything IT based.
 
Man ...Troup that's human... bro .. I've been trying to get in the business for 9 years and I almost got signed twice. Once as a singer in a group and the other as a ghost producer. I feel the same way...

But I would not quite ...

I'd just slow it down...

And precisely connect to what it is I want.

Don't put your eggs in one basket .....you might blow up 8 years from now.

Look at Jim Jonsin and Toomp...

Them cats and been in it to win it
 
Rome is right. Unity is very important in this game.

But I'll say this to you Troup and others. You have to realize that this music ish isn't for everyone. Just isn't. Simple. People are either blessed with it. You can practice and improve but I've seen cats that have been making beats for 2-5 year be better then cats who have been making beats 2 or 3 times longer then that. You are born with talent or you are not. You might be able to improve but that's like polishing a turd. It will still be a turd. Just a shiny turd.


Troup and I have had arguments on this site a few times but I wish him the best success.

Good examples thing is Jim and Toomp have both been doing music professionally since they were in their late teen's and early 20's.

Coop is a good example .... Dude is young and got his life ahead of him and odds are he has time to focus more on his music....

But all of that don't add up to him getting on. I've heard worst stories where dudes weren't suppose to even get on and did.

It's all god or destiny or fate... whatever you believe.

But you have so much control

I've been doing this since I was a teen too.

And this **** takes time .... and time is not always on your side.

I'm sure those guys wanted to blow up in their mid 20's and things just happened when they did. But they did not give up.... So they had a chance to blow up....

IMO They got better ... too. I've been listening to Toomp since I'm Serious came out ...and this dude has improved with every beat.

I say let it happen when it happens and stay grinding

One day you'll see the end result of all the BS you went through

Yes. But what does that have to do with what I said? It's true no matter what age whoever said it is. I've been doing this for 2 years so I can't speak from MY experience but I can speak from others who I know. One of my boys. Been making beats 5 years. His stuff sounds like he started 6 months ago. My other boy's stuff who has been making beats the same amount of time is working with the biggest artists right now and is one of the best producers I've ever met.

Don't let my age make you not consider what I said.
 
Getting your foot in the industry is probably one of the hardest steps. All I gotta say is that you have to work twice as hard after getting your first big placement.
 
By the way I don't agree with that other state from Coop.

Not dissing or nothing ...

Talent is important. But if you don't nurture that talent .... it will go to waste.

Nobody is above imitation or wackness when they are developing a talent.


Niggas used to get silent when I would play them a beat. Now they start freestyling over the ones they like. That's improvement.

Just have fate... cause it's all a test.

but it just seemed condesending coming from a 15 year old directed at a 32 year old- you get me.

anyway lets not turn this thread into that - ur beats are nice keep it up.

as for troup i wish u every success with ur business seems like uve put ur all into this music thing

That's not what I was saying. Of course you're not gonna be making dope beats when you first start out. Nobody does. But talent comes into play at the end of the day. If you don't have talent you won't get where you want to be. Not everybody has it.

What I wasn't saying wasn't directed at Troup I was just making a point..


It's either for you it's not.

That's a matter of discipline and dedication not talent IMO.

I learn how to produce from my good friend ..... Matter of fact he gave me the Boot leg Fruity Loops app......


But I was always grinding trying to get better and one day .... Nigga was like ... Damn you did that....


He knew I had surpassed him.


They only thing that separated me from him was opportunity ...

I seized it and he did not ... and that came from his mouth.

Truth be told, I could have placements tomorrow. I know this for a fact. All I have to do is sign on the dotted line. Most of my publishing gone, little advance, and I could have placements very easily. Publishing deal, all of that.

I've been told that all I have to do is say the word, and there's a place for me...


But this thing is about accomplishing something for me. It's not about a check. It's not about a placement. It's about blazing a trail. It's about being a role model. It's about being a positive influence. It's about pioneering business trends.

It's not about hearing myself on the radio. It's not about getting checks. I've been there done that.


It's about more for me.
