DJ Mustard & The Return of the Hip Hop Super Producer

What makes you think Hip Hop has turned into Pop? And what, in your opinion, differentiates Rap from Hip Hop?

This has obviously gone off topic. But to answer your question, imo hip hop, to me, has always been rap, djing, graffitti, breakdancing. It was a culture built on creativity and competition. Breaking is alive if you go looking for it but is no longer synonymous with the culture. You're more likely to see breaking in a children's Disney film than in a hip hop video. Graffiti artists tend to be drum n bass/rockers (certainly here in the UK) and fashion has raped the art and popularized it to the point of complete over saturation. And rap? Its the most popular genre of music on the planet. Doesn't that make it pop?

Hip-hop culture is lame. That old shit is not poppin' at all today. It ain't the 80's no more. It has transformed.
